This site aims to provide a balanced overview of the Shakespeare Authorship Mystery for beginners to this intriguing Detective Story. Fundamentally it believes that Shakspere was Shakespeare, a brilliant genius.

However, its ten essays examine why there is a mystery and gives a picture of each of the main candidates. Finally, there is a Summing Up which posits a new theory - that one particular candidate was closely involved with Shakspere, but as a patron and supporter, provider of important contacts, and an organiser and supplier of many ideas and half-developed play material.

This site is sympathetic to views of Stratfordians and anti-Stratfordians, but believes the poetry, Sonnets and plays are the work of a genius, supported by another genius – and both secretive to their very souls.
